I’ve always found water’s return to the lowest point helpful for grounding the “paradox” in something concrete. 

Water will flow to the lowest point. Period. 

It will do so by the route of least resistance — and sometimes that means drilling holes through granite. 

Otherwise, all bets are off. Evaporate and rain elsewhere to start again? Cool. Rush straight through? Cool. Meander and twist for thousands of miles? Cool.]]></description>
