Coherence
Coherence is one of the four conditions of evolutionary and eudaimonic sovereignty, represented by the “C” in “ICOA.”
When we tend the condition of coherence, we recognize that each of our primary information centers (body, heart, and mind) has access to a form of intelligence that the others lack.
Coherence is the condition in which the intelligences of body, heart, and mind are all included in our understanding of the present moment. Inwardly, coherence is experienced as a settled clarity and fluid trust in one’s discernment. Outwardly, it appears as a stable, congruent demeanor.
Incoherence arises when one or more centers are ignored, distorted, or permitted to dominate in ways that obscure the intelligence of the others. Inwardly, incoherence is experienced as conflict and uncertainty. Outwardly, it appears as mixed signals and a mismatch between word and deed.
